The backbone of Makrosoft is formed by drumer Mike Clark and bassist Paul Jackson both came from the acclaimed rhythm section of Herbie Hancock's Headhunters. Sonar Lodge - Sound Effects (2000)
Sonar Lodge first full album on which they express their trip noir as they call it themselves; combination of darker midtempo breaks with jazz elements to moody downtempo instrumental tracks and a female vocal. Started in 1997 by Richard van Kruysdijk they have released six EP's and two albums; they can be found on various compilations, and remixed artists like Aardvarck and Sandor Caron. Over the years the music have shifted from drum ‘n’ bass and triphop to a more cinematic, nu-jazzy sound while maintaining their trademark trip noir gloomy atmospheres. A follow-up to their highly rated debut album X-Posure (Loft Recordings, 2001), UK-based Grupo X, formed in 1996 by trombonist/composer Jonny Enright, fuse the hard-edged sound of '60s and '70s Latin New York with contemporary British urban soul. dissent - Swap Meet Seers (2004)
From Wide Hive Record label, dissent is the creation of label's founder/president Gregory Howe whose penchant for new sound creation is well known.
