The backbone of Makrosoft is formed by drumer Mike Clark and bassist Paul Jackson both came from the acclaimed rhythm section of Herbie Hancock's Headhunters. Also featured is the legendary Fred Wesley of James Brown and George Clinton infamy. '1st Mack to the Moon' is the first instalment of a trilogy (the other two being "Life Imitates Clouds' and Journey to Vaginus).

Sonar Lodge - Sound Effects (2000)

Sonar Lodge first full album on which they express their trip noir as they call it themselves; combination of darker midtempo breaks with jazz elements to moody downtempo instrumental tracks and a female vocal. Started in 1997 by Richard van Kruysdijk they have released six EP's and two albums; they can be found on various compilations, and remixed artists like Aardvarck and Sandor Caron. Over the years the music have shifted from drum ‘n’ bass and triphop to a more cinematic, nu-jazzy sound while maintaining their trademark trip noir gloomy atmospheres. Grupo X - Food For Your Latin Soul (2006)



A follow-up to their highly rated debut album X-Posure (Loft Recordings, 2001), UK-based Grupo X, formed in 1996 by trombonist/composer Jonny Enright, fuse the hard-edged sound of '60s and '70s Latin New York with contemporary British urban soul. Over the years the band have supported the West Coast-based percussionists Johnny Blas, Bobby Matos and Jack "Mr Bongo" Costanzo, Cuban pianist Alfredo Rodríguez, vibes legend Dave Pike, and salsa dura's trombonist-in-chief Jimmy Bosch.

dissent - Swap Meet Seers (2004)



From Wide Hive Record label, dissent is the creation of label's founder/president Gregory Howe whose penchant for new sound creation is well known. The 10-piece Bay Area outfit plays like jazz for the electronica generation. This is their third release with French Canadian vocalist Nathalie Sanchez (often compared to a young Astrud Gilberto) blesses her voice in four tracks.
