Sonar Lodge first full album on which they express their trip noir as they call it themselves; combination of darker midtempo breaks with jazz elements to moody downtempo instrumental tracks and a female vocal. Started in 1997 by Richard van Kruysdijk they have released six EP's and two albums; they can be found on various compilations, and remixed artists like Aardvarck and Sandor Caron. Over the years the music have shifted from drum ‘n’ bass and triphop to a more cinematic, nu-jazzy sound while maintaining their trademark trip noir gloomy atmospheres.
